Psychological and Pedagogical Determinants of the Formation of Empathic Culture of University Students in the Postmodern Era

The article examines the problem of forming an empathic culture of students in the context of modern higher education, determined by the socio-cultural context of postmodernity. The relevance of the study is due to the increasing role of fl exible, “soft” competencies (soft skills), among which empathy occupies a key position in the professional and social success of a person. The purpose of the work is a theoretical analysis of the psychological and pedagogical determinants that determine the process of developing the empathic culture of future specialists. Based on the analysis of domestic and foreign sources, the essence and versatility of the concept of “empathic culture” is revealed, and a system of factors (value-motivational, cognitive, emotional, activity, and organizational-pedagogical) infl uencing its formation is revealed. In conclusion, scientifi cally based conclusions are presented, including the main conditions and directions of pedagogical work on the formation of an empathic culture of students in the university environment.
