The article examines the psychological and pedagogical features of the adaptation of economics students in the higher education system, identifies the factors influencing the success of adaptation, and develops recommendations to improve the effectiveness of this process. The problem of student adaptation to university studies is an urgent topic for study in the field of psychology and pedagogy. This article explores the psychological and pedagogical aspects of adaptation of first-year students, identifies differences in the quality of adaptation, emphasizes the importance of this problem and presents the results of psychological and pedagogical research. The study shows that all participants in the educational process - students, teachers, the management of faculties and universities in general - are interested in the successful adaptation of students to learning conditions. Based on the conducted research, recommendations are proposed to improve the effectiveness of student adaptation in higher education institutions.
