Psychological and pedagogical conditions for increasing student engagement in the online environment

A hypothesis is formulated about increasing the level of student involvement in educational activities when implementing a number of psychological and pedagogical conditions: creating space for students to demonstrate their subject position and autonomy, organizing a safe online environment, using various forms of learning, stimulating student reflection and providing timely individual feedback, encouraging them desire to express their individuality, promoting their personal development through the formation of “soft skills”. A program of measures aimed at increasing student engagement in personalized online learning, developed taking into account the identified psychological and pedagogical conditions, is presented. The author's experience of testing the program as part of a personalized online Chinese language course is shown. It is concluded that it is possible to use the experience discussed in the article to increase student engagement in personalized online learning.
