Psychological and Pedagogical Conditions for Instilling Patriotism in Senior Schoolchildren in History Lessons Using the Potential of Memorial Literature

The article analyzes the need to update the content of patriotic education of the younger generation in modern conditions. The specifi cs of the formation of patriotic values and civic identity among high school students in history lessons are considered. Special attention is paid to the resource potential of memorial literature as one of the most important educational means for the formation of the civil-patriotic position of the younger generation. The author interprets the psychological and pedagogical conditions of patriotic education of senior schoolchildren and gives a component-value structure of patriotic education in history lessons from the point of view of systemic and active approaches. An algorithm for the implementation of patriotic education, developed on the basis of its own pedagogical experience, is presented, the functioning of which is based on a number of general and private methodological principles systematized and substantiated by the author
