Бесплатный доступ

The article considers colouristics in the novel of British modernist writer A. Kavan «Ice» (1967). The semantic potential of dominant colours (white, grey, black), relations between colours, colour symbolism and a pictorial reminiscence is analysed. Colours are not only used in descriptions of landscapes or characters. The language of colour also helps A. Kavan to create a peculiar atmosphere in the novel and express her own aesthetic vision of the image of the world and a person.
