Ways to increase frost resistance of concrete

The article includes analysis of publications and books on mechanism of concrete frost destruction, as well as methods of increasing their frost resistance. The paper identified main factors influencing the formation of frost-resistant concrete. It considered advantage of obtaining low-modulus inclusions by introducing microspheres into mixture over classical air-entrainment technology. A promising technology for improving concrete characteristics by introducing bitumen emulsions into it was also considered. The issue of using cement in asphalt granule concrete was studied.
