Ways of improving the probation procedure for persons applying for the position of notary

The author analyzes the procedure for competitive selection of persons who want to undergo a probation at the notary office, compares the probation procedures in the Russian Federation and in a number of European countries. The statistical data on the number of persons who passed the qualification exam and those who held the position of a notary are analyzed. The article considers the possibility of shifting in emphasis on access to the profession of a notary from the competitive selection of persons applying for the position of a notary to the procedure of competitive selection of persons who want to undergo a probation at the notary office.
