Work of Students of the Party University in Collective Farms of the Azov – Black Sea Region of Russia (Based on the Materials of Industrial Practice in 1934)
Introduction. The article is devoted to the study of the summer industrial practice of students of the All-Union Communist Agricultural University named after Ya.M. Sverdlov in 1934. The relevance of the work is determined by the high demand for the topic of collectivization in the scientific community and the growing interest of historians in the issues of Soviet everyday life in the 1930s. Methods and materials. The analyzed materials are stored in the State Archives of the Russian Federation and have not yet received serious study in historical research. Thus, the novelty of the work is associated, first of all, with the introduction into scientific circulation of a little-studied complex of historical sources, the disclosure of their information potential for the study of collective farm construction in the USSR, the everyday life of the collective farm peasantry and student activists. The materials are presented by the reporting documentation of students and teachers of the university. Analysis. The study reveals the features of students’ participation in the organization of artel production in the village, the main difficulties in the work of collective farms and ways to overcome them. The conditions and environment of the working life of interns in the agricultural regions of the Azov-Black Sea region of the RSFSR are shown. The work is based on the anthropological approach, which involves a detailed consideration of the facts of life, work and everyday consciousness of people, allowing us to study the features of everyday life of villagers from different sides. Results. The findings allow us to expand our understanding of the specifics of the socialist restructuring of the village at its final stage, to determine the role of students of communist universities in this process, and to clarify ideas about the key problems of collective farms in the early period of their existence. The presented results can serve for further development of the problem of involving students of communist universities in the work of collective farm construction.
