Randomized placebo-controlled investigation of efficacy of application of sevitine in alcoholic patients at the stage of formation of remission

The placebo-controlled investigation has demonstrated that intake of sevitine (preparation which basic acting substance is anti-oxidant carnosine) by alcoholic patients during 1 month at the stage of formation of remission accelerates normalization of activity of aminotransferases of blood serum, effectively reduces content of products of oxidative modification of proteins and lipids in blood plasma of patients. It has been concluded that sevitine may serve as an important addition to standard scheme of the therapy in addiction psychiatry practice in complex rehabilitation of alcoholic patients at the stage of formation of remission.
