Раннепалеолитические находки в бассейне реки Евфрат (юго-восточная Турция) в свете первоначального заселения Малой Азии и Кавказа

Находки раннего палеолита древнее ашеля на территории Восточной Анатолии до недавнего времени были практически неизвестны. В ходе разведочных работ, проводившихся в 2014-2016 гг. совместной российско-турецкой экспедицией, в долине р. Евфрат было обнаружено несколько стратифицированных местонахождений раннего палеолита. Среди собранных каменных изделий - чопперы, пики, орудия с ретушью, отщепы. Схожие каменные индустрии были обнаружены на территории Кавказа (Армения, Дагестан), имеющие возраст первой половины раннего плейстоцена. Помимо археологической типологической датировки, раннеплейстоценовый возраст находок подтверждают геоморфологические, стратиграфические, палеонтологические, палеомагнетические данные. Некоторые из этих местонахождений датируются древнее субхрона Олдувей, т.е. около 2 млн л. н. Новые открытия раннего палеолита в Юго-Восточной Турции могут иметь большое значение для исследования древнейшей человеческой культуры Ближнего Востока и Кавказа. Обнаружены также каменные изделия ашеля и среднего палеолита, позволяющие датировать более молодые речные террасы.
