Prevalence and clinical picture of non-psychotic mental disorders in women in late pregnancy

Background. The present study examines the prevalence and clinical presentation of non-psychotic mental disorders (NPMD) in uncomplicated pregnancies and their impact on the course of pregnancy. Objective: to identify psychological predictors of mental health problems when women experience pregnancy in the second trimester. Materials and Methods. The work was performed based on the Krasnoyarsk Interdistrict Maternity Hospital No. 5 with the participation of pregnant women (n=60) with an uncomplicated pregnancy of 20-40 weeks. Inclusion criteria: no history of severe chronic somatic (diabetes mellitus, arterial hypertension, autoimmune diseases) and mental (schizophrenia, bipolar affective disorder, epilepsy) pathology, malformations of the reproductive sphere, uterine scar after surgical interventions, severe pathology of reproductive sphere, consent to participation. Psychometric methods were used: clinical interview, observation, standardized interview using a specially designed questionnaire. For the differential assessment of neurotic and neurosis-like states in the groups of pregnant women, the questionnaire of neurotic disorders (QND) was used.
