Consideration of civil cases with the participation of public representatives

The article examines the problematic aspects of the prospects for consideration of civil cases by courts of general jurisdiction with the involvement of members of the public. The authors draw attention to the vector of development of the judicial system and the correspondence to it of proposals on the establishment of the institute of jurors or court assessors by analogy with arbitration assessors in the arbitration process. Based on the results of the analysis of domestic and foreign experience, a conclusion was made about the effectiveness of these proposals, only for a certain list of cases.
