The total number of word combinations for the translation of two or more Greek words by one Russian word in the Synodal translation of the New Testament is more than 1500. In accordance with the classification of words by parts of speech in Russian grammar, the translational equivalents in the Synodal New Testament are divided into 4 groups: nouns (I), adjectives (II), verbs and verbal names (III), and derivatives (IV). In the article, the most characteristic cases of the translation of two or more Greek words by one Russian word are considered.
