The article analyses the conditions of railway, marine and cartage transport in the rear of General P.N. Vrangel's Russian Army which controlled the territory of the Crimea and Northern Tavria (the former Tauride province of the Russian Empire). The state and condition of all sorts of transportation is examined in the context of Russia's domestic and foreign trade. A special emphasis is placed on economic, political, military and other factors which aggravated the disruption of all categories of transportation. The collapse of the transport is seen in close connection with the crisis in goods circulation on the territory of the Crimea and Northern Tavria in 1920. It is concluded that the disruption of railway, marine and cartage transport resulted correspondingly in sharper fuel and food crisis, the latter triggering in its turn a harder crisis in commodity-money relations, higher prices, speculation and corruption.
