Division of virtual property in case of divorce

With the development of digital technologies, property relations take on new forms, including virtual assets such as cryptocurrencies, social media accounts, virtual items in online games and digital collectibles. Upon the dissolution of a marriage, there is a need for a legal settlement of the division of such assets, which poses difficult tasks for lawyers and courts in terms of their legal qualification, assessment and distribution. The article examines the problems of legal regulation of virtual assets, analyzes Russian and foreign judicial practice, and suggests ways to improve legislation.
