Different approaches to semiosis

In contrast with usual differentiation of logical and linguistic approaches to semiosis and pointing to Eco’s synthesis of both approaches the article deals with the constructive potential of Peirce’s ideas as the grounds for acknowledging the role of Interpreter as the originator of semiosis. The importance of investigating the process of natural semiosis as a basic instrument of cognition and communication in personal adaptation to natural and social environment is advocated.
