Development of technology for teaching legal basis of using firearms to cadets of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs

The conceptual basis of the technology is problematic learning with usage of set of desktop figures, developed criteria-oriented tests and special targets. The implementation of the competence mechanism in the process of teaching the legal basis for the use of firearms is carried out through three stages. The purpose of the first stage of training is the formation of the legal basis for using weapons at the level of understanding. The task of the second stage is diagnosis of knowledge of legal fundamentals for using firearms at the level of reproduction. The third stage aims at formation of competence to apply knowledge when solving an interdisciplinary situational problem typical for practical activity. The final stage is characterized by formation of professional competencies and abilities to effectively and legally use weapons when solving an interdisciplinary situational problem with the use of special targets that reflect various signs of the circumstances of using firearms by a police officer provided for by the federal law «On the Police». Thus, this technology of problem teaching cadets to legal fundamentals of using firearms helps to build up a logical interconnection between academic knowledge and practical skills and strengthen a practical orientation.
