Destruction of thiamethoxam when used together with plant growth regulators in potato leaves and tubers
Relevance. Many researchers recommend using growth regulators alongside pesticides to improve the yield and stress resistance of potato plants. The combined application of growth regulators and pesticides likely affects the metabolism of pesticides in plant tissues and their movement. Additionally, growth regulators can influence the flow of nutrients, water, and reserves due to their mode of action. It is also important to consider their potential impact on the movement, accumulation, and degradation of pesticide active ingredients in potato tubers. Therefore, studying potential changes in the uptake and degradation rates of insecticides is relevant, as these substances pose the greatest risk to human health. The aim of the study: to investigate the degradation of the insecticide Aktara, VDG (active ingredient: thiamethoxam) under combined application with the plant growth regulators Agrostimul, VE and Zircon, R. Methods. Study the destruction of the insecticide thiamethoxam when it is co-administered with plant growth regulators. The field part of the study was carried out in Moscow, on the territory of the Field Experimental Station Russian State Agrarian University – Moscow Timiryazev Agricultural Academy in the period 2022-2023 on potato plantings. The analysis of the selected samples of potato leaves and tubers for the content of residual amounts of pesticides and the establishment of the dynamics of their destruction was carried out at the Educational and Scientific Consulting Center "Agroecology of Pesticides and Agrochemicals" Russian State Agrarian University – Moscow Timiryazev Agricultural Academy. In the experiments, an insecticide was used – Actar, VDG (250 g/kg thiamethoxam) and plant growth regulators: Agrostimul, VE (50 g/L dihydroquercitin), Zircon, P (0.1 g/L hydroxycinnamic acids). In the field part of the study, potato plantings were treated separately with Actar insecticide, VDG and combined with the use of Agrostimul plant growth regulators, VE and Zircon, R. After treatment in all variants of the experiment for 21 days, samples of parts of plant leaves and tubers were taken to establish, in laboratory conditions, the level of residual amounts of the active substance of the insecticide Actar, VDG-thiamethoxam and the dynamics of its destruction. The level of insecticide in the different test cases was compared. Results. The results of the study showed that the two-fold use of growth regulators Agrostimul, VE and Zircon, P changed the rate of entry of the insecticide thiamethoxam into terrestrial organs of plants and potato tubers. Also, the combined use of the growth regulators in question accelerated the destruction of thiamethoxam in tops and potato tubers. Conclusion. The study proves the effect of the use of plant growth regulators on the change in the rate of destruction of the insecticide - thiamethoxam both in tops and in potato tubers and indicates the need to continue research in this area.
