The concept of the “image” of an organization, the characteristics and functions of the image are considered. The article describes the activities of the Department of Pedagogy, Educational Technologies and Professional Communication of Saratov State Medical University named after V.I. Razumovsky. Her work is evaluated in the context of the general vector of the university’s development. To develop the image of the department, its corporate identity has been defi ned: values, mission and vision have been formulated, as well as quality objectives. The goals are formulated based on the results of benchmarking the websites of similar departments for several medical universities, a SWOT analysis of the department’s activities; based on existing internal documents of the university. A list of measures is proposed to promote the development of a positive image that ensures the eff ective operation of the university and is an additional resource for the management of an educational institution.
