The development of combinatorial knowledges to the middle of the XVII century

The development of combinatorial knowledges to the middle of the XVII century is considered. Receiving the formulae for calculation of different types of compositions is described. The comparative analysis of the tables of the binomial coefficients, obtained by scientists of different countries, is performed. The contribution of B. Pascal in the development of the knowledges about combinations and decomposition degree of binom is estimated.
