In the article it is made an attempt to analyze the artistic features of the development of the conflict between Achilles and Agamemnon in the novels by C. MacCullough and D. Gemmel. The general features typical for a classical plot of development of the key conflict on a plot of «Iliad» are noted, the distinctive moments are revealed, their importance and influence on a work plan is revealed. The author of the article analyzes the features of the image of the parties to the conflict and how their characteristics affect the plot of the work as a whole.
