The paper discusses various ways of developing critical thinking through videos in foreign language classes. It determines three basic stages of critical thinking technology. The author offers some practical tasks to each stage. The article outlines the main advantages of using videos as well as some crucial criteria of choosing the appropriate material. The important role of a teacher is emphasized in this regard.
