Development of metasubject pedagogical psychology competencies of foreign language instructors in self-education

The psychological and pedagogical competence of the university instructor is an important factor affecting the satisfaction of students with the educational process. Individual characteristics of motivation, self-esteem and self-regulation, the level of emotional intelligence, features of the volitional sphere, knowledge of the patterns of behavior and the ability to control and correct it are among the main psychological aspects of the educational process. The university instructor must be knowledgeable in the field of pedagogical psychology, have the required competence. The article presents an analysis of psychological and pedagogical competence in the unity of motivational, cognitive, behavioral, value-semantic and emotional-volitional components. Competencies, personal qualities, components of psychological and pedagogical literacy (knowledge), value-semantic beliefs, psychological and pedagogical skills and experience (procedural component) are identified as conditions and indicators of the development of psychological and pedagogical competence. The ways of improving this new formation in the conditions of self-development of the instructor are proposed. The analysis of the experience of the School of Pedagogical Excellence affiliated to the Volgograd State Medical University and the results of a survey of instructors taking advanced training courses showed a lack of psychological and pedagogical knowledge and experience of medical university instructors in solving interpersonal problems in the educational process. As mechanisms for the development of meta-subject psychological and pedagogical competencies in the framework of self-education, reading auxiliary literature, attending master classes, taking advanced training courses and sharing experience in pedagogical communities are proposed.
