The article reveals the features of the cognitive interest of younger schoolchildren in the world around them and nature through the organization of extracurricular activities. The author reveals the essence of the pedagogical potential of extracurricular activities in nature in primary school and describes the specifics of their use, intended purpose, didactic opportunities and advantages. The role of outdoor activities in the development of primary schoolchildren’s cognitive interest in the world around them is described.
