Development of professional competences in engineering economy as the second wave of engineering and economic education in Russia

The presented article is devoted to the actual problems of the development of domestic engineering and economic education in the context of the transition to the fourth technological order, as well as Russia's place in the world economic system. The author pays special attention to the genesis and transformation of engineering and economic knowledge in the context of the formation of institutions of the education system of the USSR and modern Russia. The study accumulates experience in the development of educational standards from the 1970s to our time and provides an exhaustive answer to the question regarding the issues of training economists and managers in the focus of the demands of the labor market, society and the state. As a conclusion, the author proposes recommendations on the principles for the formation of basic professional educational programs within the framework of engineering economics, as well as on methodological approaches to the development of federal innovation platforms (FIP) in order to develop a system to support the ideas of engineering economics.
