Development of family tourism in the Republic of Crimea. problems and prospects

This work is devoted to the current problems and prospects of family tourism development in the Russian Federation, in particular, in the «young» Republic of Crimea. The development of domestic tourism is one of the strategic objectives of the Russian state. Tourism is a universal tool for the social and economic development of society. According to most theorists and practitioners in the field of tourism, family travel, both domestic and international, is the most popular type of travel in the Russian market. Recently, there has been a positive trend in domestic travel among Russian families. This trend is due to the implementation of the National Project «Tourism and Hospitality Industry». The Crimean Peninsula is a leading destination for domestic tourists during the summer season. During the autumn and winter seasons, the number of tourists decreases significantly, which is a major challenge for this destination, which has enormous potential for family tourism throughout the year. The article highlights the significance of Crimea for the Russian people and the importance of preserving its history for future generations. It presents the main existing problems in the Republic of Crimea that hinder the development of family tourism and tourism in general, and offers practical recommendations for addressing these issues. The article describes the main attractions of the peninsula, which are cultural, educational, and tourist destinations that offer opportunities for year-round travel and are particularly appealing to families with children.
