This study investigates the possibility of developing soft skills during English lessons in high schools. The methods of cross-cultural competence formation based on communicative, competence and collaborative learning approaches are suggested. The paper represents a system of integrated tasks aimed at developing all skills such as listening, reading, speaking, writing and also soft skills. In conclusion, it may be stated that the use of modern computer and media technologies during the lessons of foreign languages increases students’ motivation and involvement into the subject and helps to develop communicative competence as an important instrument of successful socialization and self-realization in the modern polycultural world.
