Development of student esports in Buryatia

Today, eSports are an important tool for socialization of students, team building, stress management, and development of cognitive abilities. The article reflects the problems of student eSports development in Buryatia, which have been identified after the recent international high-tech tournament "Games of the Future" in Kazan (February 21 to March 3, 2024). Based on various scientific sources, we have considered the features of computer sports and their differences from traditional sports. The article focuses on the development of computer sports in higher education institutions that have the potential for training specialists in these field. Therefore, it is important to assess the state of student eSports in the Republic of Buryatia and Dorzhi Banzarov Buryat State University, as well as to determine the directions for its effective development. The article provides information on promising areas of scientific research in eSports.
