Development of the creativity of students in a non-linguistic university in foreign language classes

This article examines the topic of the formation of creativity among students of a non-linguistic university in a foreign language class. In modern conditions on the labor market, priority is given to specialists with creative thinking, the ability to offer original, multivariate solutions to problems. The authors have developed and structured a methodology that includes a system of tasks aimed at the consistent formation and development of a convergent type of thinking and, as a consequence, the creative potential of university students. The task system consists of the following stages: 1) creating an atmosphere which prerequisites for creative activity - immersion in the world of art; 2) specific tasks with clear instructions; 3) creation of a product according to a given sample; 4) creativity itself - the creation of a completely new product. The importance of support, creating a comfortable psychological climate in the classroom is noted. As a result of the study, the authors have come to the conclusion that the created scheme is quite effective for working with students enrolled in various specialties and in different formats of training, both full-time and distance. As a result of systematic work, the skill of a creative approach to problem solving is formed.
