The article presents the results of studying the motivational aspect of gifted students in non-core classes. The main criteria for the development of educational motivation in students with outstanding abilities in the framework of chemistry education have been identified. The importance of the formation of a student's internal motivation, which is associated with the development of a student's cognitive interest in the subject under study, has been determined. In the course of the study, innovative technologies were identified to increase the educational motivation of gifted students, as well as the level of student motivation as a necessary condition for the effectiveness of teaching chemistry.
