Developing geometric construction skills in high school students through computer modelling

An investigation study on the development of geometric construction skills of high school students aims for this paper. The relevance of the topic underlines the need to explore this issue at the level of theory and practice. The authors present an analysis of the development of students’ geometrical constructions skills at all levels of basic education and consider the criteria and results of diagnosing such processes. The study reveals the content of the methodological conditions for the development of the above-mentioned skills. The authors of the paper note that conducting elective classes using computer modelling in the “Living Geometry” sphere is a prerequisite for successful development of the skills of geometrical constructions by high-school students. The conclusions drawn from the results of the investigation study, presented by the authors of the paper, confirm the effectiveness of the choice of given form and means of educating high school students.
