Realisation of axiological potential of ethnonyms in the text

The article explores the axiological potential of ethnonyms and the conditions of its actualization in the text. The paper proves that context determines the informational or evaluative function of ethnonyms. The paper also analyses the connection between the implicational meaning and ethnic stereotypes. The reference to the lаtter enables ethnonyms to express a comparative evaluation of things, people, their characters and behavior.
