Implementation of folk customs: criminal law compromise and prevention

The article initially examines and analyzes individual national traditions and customsof peoples from the standpoint of their criminal law regulation in Russian law. It is noted thatalthough the current Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (hereinafter - the Criminal Code ofthe Russian Federation) does not establish a direct ban on the commission of socially dangerousacts that constitute remnants of folk customs, however, this does not mean that such acts haveceased to be criminal. The analysis is given and examples of the implementation of such folkcustoms are given. Next, the directions of the legal and organizational plan for the prevention ofoffenses related to the implementation of customary law are determined. As a result, it is statedthat the research and development of directions for the prevention of such offenses from the pointof view of the importance of the norms of customary law is not only scientifically relevant, butalso a practically significant problem
