The presented publication is a collection of reports by university teachers, museum and archival workers, graduate students and students. The reports are dedicated to more than a current event — the 150th anniversary of the birth of the founder of the Bolshevik Party and the Soviet state. Of particular interest will, of course, be the reports of social scientists known not only in Russia, but also abroad. Readers will agree with many of the arguments set forth in them, but some of the theses will certainly cause a desire to argue, to put forward counter-arguments. The discussions that unfolded at the forum around the biography of V. I. Lenin, his works and the results of his activities, were very fruitful and will be continued in scientific institutions, student classrooms and libraries.
150th anniversary of the birth of V. I. Lenin, Ulyanovsk, scale of personality, image mythologization, historical significance, dictatorship of the proletariat, great modernist, "Materialism and empirio-criticism", correlation of Marxism and Leninism, totalitarian system
