The article analyzes the impact of the language games on the formation of verbal portrait of the child and his linguistic identity. The formation of children's linguistic identity is associated with the development of meta-linguistic and lingual-creative abilities. The retreat from the norms in adult speech is regarded as one of components, which can stimulate language game and provoke verbal activity of a child. One of the key factors shaping the verbal portrait of a child is the personality of the adults and their speech and the communication strategy they develop in dialogue with the child.
