Referential potential of phraseological units nominal groups within phraseological units with figurative meaning «Krieg»

The article deals with phraseological units containing nominal groups the referential scope of which is encompassed with the concept «Krieg». In the course of working with dictionaries 55 nominal groups have been singled out which in the long run constitute the functional-semantic field of the concept «Krieg» reflecting the overall referential potential. It has been proved in the result that the nominal group can expand their referential capacity due to different semantic transformations that are bound to take place in a phraseological unit.
