A reflective view on the just war theory by M. Walzer in the era of digital military communities

The subject of the research is digital military communities on social networks and the Internet through the reflection on the just war theory. The object of the study is the theory of M. Walzer and its rethinking by other authors in the content of the information space. The author examines in detail such aspect of the topic as a review of the key scientific opinions on the understanding of the term “just war” in the information context. Particular attention is paid to the modern development of the information space and, in parallel with it, control and security, that are a priority for any modern state apparatus. It is concluded that the ever-changing nature of information warfare, which has a destructive effect on the evolution of this geopolitical process, while simultaneously being reflected in the digital society. The author's special contribution to the study of the topic is consideration of the theory of just war by Michael Walzer and its rethinking by modern philosophers, which allows to provide answers to key questions related to the justification of information warfare through the participation of digital military communities. The novelty of the study lies in the fact that previously the theory of just war was considered exclusively in the fields of philosophy or political science. The author's perspective on this issue also covers the mass media and journalism, thus demonstrating an integrated approach of interdisciplinary sciences.
