Regional innovation infrastructure: an institutional aspect

The article considers various interpretations of the concept of "innovation infrastructure", including system, resource, functional and institutional approaches. The significance of the institutional approach, which is aimed at creating favorable conditions for interaction between scientists, entrepreneurs and government agencies, is substantiated. The regional innovation infrastructure is considered as a system of organizational and economic institutions that support innovation activities and are based on the principles of economic rationality. Particular attention is paid to social institutions that influence the formation of an effective innovation infrastructure.
