Regional migration in figures and perceptions of internal migrants

Migration is a constant attribute of modern reality. People are constantly moving in geographical and social space, changing not only their place of residence, but also their social status and roles. These processes are most often associated with the desire of the population to arrange their lives in a new place in accordance with existing needs and interests. The aim of the study was to identify the objective and subjective aspects of migration in the Volgograd region, and based on them, the main trends in migration processes from the districts of the Volgograd region to Volgograd. Rural residents from the regions of the Volgograd region come to Volgograd, and the urban population, including young people, leaves. The main research methods were: statistical analysis of data from the Federal Statistics Service and the Volgograd Statistics Service and in-depth interviews with 16 migrants. The main reasons are still the same: the desire to increase your income, quality of life, and arrange your life at a higher level. Rural residents who come to Volgograd usually seek to find a place to continue their studies and receive higher education. Some of the migrants come to the city to reunite with relatives who left a little earlier.
