Regional peculiarities of hotel business development in crisis conditions

The article considers the regional features of the hotel business and tourism development in the crisis and post-crisis periods of 2008-2009, 2014-2015, 2020-2021. Cities and corresponding regions were selected for the analysis: Perm, Yekaterinburg, Tyumen, Chelyabinsk. The authors suggest that the indicators of the hotel business development depend on the priorities of the strategic tourism development in cities and in the regions themselves. Research is based on the following methods: the monitoring of hotel sites of the studied territories, the analysis of statistical reporting data and reports of regional authorities. The author presents the results of studying the main documents on the tourism development in the regions and the priority strategic directions of tourism development in the relevant subjects, as well as results of a comparative analysis of the activities in cities in the context of the strategic goals for the certain tourism types development. As a result, it was revealed that the formulated strategic goals in different territories are one of the main factors affecting the level and dynamics of the tourism industry and allow the tourism development to continue even in crisis and post-crisis periods, with certain adjustments. As a result of researching the priority direction "tourism" at the level of regions and cities, estimating the values of some factors influencing the hotel business development in crisis conditions, the article formulated recommendations for building anti-crisis directions of strategic development applicable at different hierarchical levels (region, city and hotel enterprise).
