Rating as a way to assess the social development of Russian regions

This article analyzes one of the ways to assess the social development of Russian regions. The author describes the main principles of rating, identifies the most famous international rating agencies. It is noted that the Agency “RIA-Rating” is currently the most recognized in Russia. The algorithm for rating this Agency is described, and the indicators used are analyzed. The results of rating Russian regions on the quality of life of the population are presented. It is concluded that this method can be used to assess regional social development.
