The article focuses on the investigation of the functioning of Christian themes in the works of the XIX century English writer Jane Austen, as continuing interest in religious matters is one of the main factors that determine the stability and permanence of the Victorian era. The author's transformation of issues related to religion and spiritual life of society and the images of priests in the novels of J. Austen are considered in the article.
