This article explores the relationship between religion and culture through the lens of religious cultural studies, a new discipline that emerged at the intersection of theology and religious studies, metaphysics and science, phenomenology and axiology. Religious cultural studies focus on the values of religion within the context of culture. The author argues for the distinction between religious cultural studies and secular religious studies, which are complemented by axiological reflection on the sacred experience, and religious theology, which is complemented by phenomenology. The result of the influence of religious cultural studies on the self-awareness of the subject is mature (philosophical) faith, which implies the synthesis of doubt and conviction.
