X-ray structural features of the ureter with different peristaltic activity in children with congenital nonrefluxing megaureter

We propose a new diagnostic method for estimation of functional state of the ureter using a standard X-ray examination by calculating a parameter called "ureteral index". The values ​​of "ureteral index" exceeding 0.19 with 87.5% sensitivity and specificity of 92% indicate a low peristaltic activity of the ureter.
