The relevance of the research is due to the fact that the study of the conceptual sphere helps to study more deeply the representation of a certain concept in a particular culture. The concept of FATHERLAND represents an important part of the national consciousness, and is represented in almost every culture. This concept is relevant and important for speakers of a particular linguistic picture of the world. The picture of the world is an objective reality that exists regardless of the person. However, it finds its subjective reflection in every consciousness. Therefore, the picture of the world is formed on the basis of a worldview and personal information about the world. The concept of FATHERLAND is actualized in the texts of the English corpus. The analysis of the contexts identified from the corpus gives a more accurate idea of the content of the concept of FATHERLAND in the English language, its significance for language and culture. Within the framework of cognitive linguistics, mental and psychological processes are studied when a person learns about the surrounding reality and forms a certain attitude towards it. One of the most modern and actively studied processes in this field is conceptualization. Conceptualization is an important cognitive process, since the concept is actualized both in the consciousness of an individual carrier and in the national consciousness and mentality. Therefore, the study of the conceptual sphere allows us to analyze in more detail the picture of the world of a particular ethnic group.
