The article deals with the issues of linguistic representation of the MIGRANT concept. The choice of this concept is not accidental, it is connected, first of all, with large-scale migration processes and problems that arise against this background. Objective reality is reflected in human consciousness, and representation, being a special cognitive form, refers both to the process of representing the world in human consciousness and to the unit of such a representation. A free associative experiment was carried out. As a result of processing the results, the associative field of the concept was formed and the analysis of the linguistic representation of this concept in native speakers’s conscioussness was carried out. Participants were asked to write 10 associations for the stimulus word “migrant”. Twenty three representatives of foreign countries took part in the experiment. The age of the respondents varies from 18 to 55 years. The associative-verbal field "Migrant" consists of 6 semantic modules. Analyzing the constructed semantic classification, it is possible to trace how the image of a migrant is presented in the minds of citizens of Englishspeaking countries. In the article an associative-verbal model of the MIGRANT concept is developed. Within the framework of a free associative experiment, the field organization of the concept was described; the core of the field includes the semantic modules "Tourism" and "Human", and the periphery is made up of the semantic modules "Evaluation", "Politics", "Dream" and "Economics".
