Representation of Russia's image through the opposition “own - alien” in the Spanish historical diplomatic discourse (based on Spanish diplomatic documents of the second half of the 18th century)

The article examines the ontological arguments of the opposition “own - alien”, together with its functional features and the depiction in the historical diplomatic discourse. Based on the semantic-discursive and stylistic analysis the authors show the transformational dynamics of the lingoucultural image of Russia introduced in Spanish diplomatic documents and implemented through the categorical construct “own - alien”. The article has been assembled on the basis of the interdisciplinary approach, including methods of comparative, lexical-semantic, stylistic and discursive analysis.
