Representation of Russian substantives by means of the English language in a religious context

This article is devoted to the verbalization of similar concepts in different languages. In particular, the subject of the research is the concepts expressed by substantive adjectives and participles in Russian and their representation in English. The author carefully analyzes the set of means for nominating these concepts in English, based on the illustrative material of the Russian and English versions of the Bible. Special attention is paid to semantic and structural features of the representatives. Research methods are determined by the goals and objectives of this work. The main methods were comparative and lexicographic analyses, which helped to identify similarities and differences of grammatical, semantic and syntactic planes. The results of the study showed that there are significant differences in terms of the expression of substantives in Russian and English.
