Purpose of the study: o conduct a comparative characterization of respiratory disorders in newborns with sepsis born to mothers who had COVID 19 during pregnancy. Materials and methods: 64 newborns were examined and divided into 2 groups. Group 1 (main) – newborns with sepsis born to mothers who had COVID-19 during pregnancy – 34 (53.1%) Group 2 (comparison) – newborns with neonatal sepsis – 30 (46.9%). Results. It has been established that a study of the spectrum of clinical manifestations and respiratory lesions in newborns with sepsis may result from a new coronavirus infection, COVID-19, suffered during pregnancy. All examined newborn children with sepsis required respiratory support, however, the duration of its use was significantly higher in the group of newborn children with sepsis born to mothers who had COVID-19 during pregnancy (p <0.01), and also depended from gestational age.
