Retrospective of approaches to the formation of generations of adhesive systems in dentistry

This article sets itself the task of studying and critically analyzing the scienti c and practical base used in the study and characterization of various generations of adhesives. The study provides a history of the development of adhesive dentistry, including the characteristics of each generation, their advantages and disadvantages, as well as the reasons for the appearance of each generation. The key result of the study is the identi cation of characteristic features and justi cation for the improvement of adhesives, namely: the consistent improvement of the shortcomings of previous generations and the emergence of new ones
